At BCBSTX, we offer a range of products in multiple lines of business, all with competitive commissions.
When you contract with us, you are eligible to sell our standard health care insurance products in the Group, Medicare and Individual markets. That's one contract for small and mid-market group sales, Medicare Supplement and individual Marketplace plans. When you complete MAPD and PDP training and certification, you may sell those plans as well.
Once you onboard with us, you'll have a host of tools and materials available to you through our secure producer portal, Blue Access for ProducersSM. There you'll find multiple tools to help you market and sell BCBSTX products, service your clients throughout the year and manage your book of business.
Getting Started
#1 - Submit an Appointment Contracting Request
You can begin the automated contracting process by submitting a request. Note that subproducers of an agency should let their agency manage the contracting process.
#2 - Get Your Welcome Email
As soon as the contracting or onboarding process is complete, all producer types receive a Welcome email with their nine-digit ID number. Keep this number close and safe. It's your key to a secure account, commissions, producer of record data and more.
#3 - Register for Your Secure Account
Once you have your nine-digit producer ID number, register for your secure Blue Access for ProducersSM account.
#4 - Complete Certifications
If you're planning to sell Individual and Family Markets plans or Medicare Advantage and Prescription Drugs Plans, be sure you are certified to sell in those markets for each plan year.
#5 - Review Our Product Training
Each plan year, we offer in-person or virtual training for our each of our lines of business. Links to training materials or to the sessions themselves may be found through your portal account.
#6 - Read Our Weekly Newsletter
Each Wednesday, we'll deliver News From the Blues for ProducersSM to the email address we have on file in your account. The newsletter is full of information on products, training, reminders, how-to guides and more.
