Programs and Resources
Do you want to find the right resources, save money, and manage your medical conditions? Here are some programs and resources designed with your well-being in mind.
24/7 Nurse Advice
This help line is staffed with registered nurses who can help you answer your health questions. If an unexpected medical situation arises, a nurse can help you decide if you should call your doctor, visit the ER or urgent care, or treat the problem yourself.
You can call the nurse hotline for your plan:
- CHIP and STAR, call 1-844-971-8906 (TTY: 711).
- STAR Kids, call 1-855-802-4614 (TTY: 711).
Service Coordination
Do you need help setting up your health care? BCBSTX can help. Our Service Coordination team will work with you, your family, doctors and specialists to set up care. They also can assist you with a Care Plan to help you reach your health goals. The services you get will be based on your health assessment needs.
Special Beginnings®
This program provides health education for pregnant mothers. You should enroll in the program as soon as you know you are pregnant. You will receive phone calls from a nurse from the start of your pregnancy until six weeks after your child is born.
To sign up for Special Beginnings, call 1-888-421-7781 (TTY: 711). You can also email us.
