Member Advocates

As a Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Texas plan member, you or your child has access to a team or providers, service managers and other professionals to help guide your care. You also have access to the Member Outreach team.

Member Outreach is a local staff of Community Health Workers based in your service area. They:

  • Assist in connecting you and your child to the programs and services available to you.
  • Are responsible for calling BCBSTX members and performing home visits.
  • Serve as partners to many of BCBSTX’s community-based programs and resources.

The Member Advocate is part of the Member Outreach team. He or she serves as a dedicated resource to assist you in filing a complaint or appeal. He or she can also help you to track the status of a complaint or appeal during any stage. Learn more about the Complaints and Appeals process.
