Where can I get health insurance?

The Affordable Care Act (ACA) makes it easier to get affordable health insurance plans in Illinois, even if you haven't been able to in the past. You can get coverage through:

  • A company, like Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Texas
  • A licensed insurance agent
  • The Health Insurance Marketplace
  • Your employer for employer-offered plans
  • Programs like Medicare or Medicaid if you qualify

This year, Open Enrollment begins on Nov. 1 and ends Jan. 15. Start thinking about your needs and come back then to renew your coverage or find a BCBSTX plan that better fits your life.
