Southwestern Health Resources Negotiation

Our contracts with Southwestern Health Resources in North Texas expire on April 1, 2025. SWHR includes Texas Health Resources and UT Southwestern hospitals, facilities and doctors. We’re working closely with SWHR leadership and hope to sign new contracts. This negotiation affects multiple plans at BCBSTX, not just TRS’s.

You're our priority. We want to reach an agreement that'll continue to give you access to SWHR doctors and hospitals at fair prices.

Even if SWHR leaves our networks, you’ll continue to have access to our robust network of doctors, health care professionals, hospitals and facilities throughout North Texas.

Why It Matters

If BCBSTX and SWHR don’t sign new contracts before April 1, 2025, THR and UTSW hospitals, health care facilities, doctors and health care professionals won’t be in network for health plans at BCBSTX, including your TRS-ActiveCare plan, on April 1.

  • TRS-ActiveCare Primary
  • TRS-ActiveCare Primary+
  • TRS-ActiveCare HD
  • TRS-ActiveCare 2
