Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Texas offers certain services for members with special needs. These services are available at no cost and include Service Coordination support. We can help you find the right level of Service Coordination support, with the help of a service coordinator.
Service Coordination can help manage your health care and mental care needs by working directly with you, your family, doctors and specialists to coordinate your care. A service coordinator is a member of our team dedicated to helping you find the right doctors, community support and services based on your medical, behavioral and cultural needs. Your service coordinator will also work with you to make a Care Plan that helps you reach your health and mental goals.
When you choose BCBSTX for CHIP, you have access to programs and classes that can help you live healthier.

Service coordinators also do the following:
- Listen to your concerns
- Help you and your family to get the services you need, like transportation
- Help set up care with your doctor and other health or behavioral care team members depending on your care needs
- Help you, your family and your caregiver better understand your health condition(s), medications and treatments
- Provide Community Resource Support

To learn more about BCBSTX STAR or CHIP covered programs and services, or for help finding a specialist, substance abuse services, or an OB/GYN provider, call the Customer Advocate Department at 1-888-657-6061 (TTY: 711) from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. CT, Monday through Friday. You may also leave a voicemail outside of our normal business hours or on weekends and holidays.
Blue Access for MembersSM
Blue Access for Members (BAM) is the secure member portal from BCBSTX. BAM allows you to view your covered benefits, prescriptions and service management information. Log in and register for BAM.
You can call your service coordinator at 1-877-214-5630 between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. CT., or call the Customer Advocate Department at 1-888-657-6061 (TTY: 711).
