Negotiation with Southwestern Health Resources
Our contracts with Southwestern Health Resources in North Texas expire on April 1, 2025. We are working closely with SWHR leadership and hope to sign new contracts before that date. If new contracts aren’t signed, SWHR doctors, hospitals and other facilities will no longer be in our networks as of April 1.
You are our priority. We want to reach an agreement that will continue to give you access to SWHR doctors and hospitals at fair prices.
Even if SWHR leaves our networks, you’ll continue to have access to our robust network of doctors, health care professionals, hospitals and facilities throughout North Texas. Check for options based on your plan by logging in to Blue Access for Members℠. If you don’t have access to BAM℠, go to the website on the back of your member ID card. You can also call the customer service number on your member ID card.
Why It Matters
SWHR includes Texas Health Resources and UT Southwestern hospitals, other health care facilities, doctors and health care professionals. If we don’t sign new contracts, SWHR will leave these networks on April 1:
- ParPlan
- Blue Choice PPOSM
- Blue EssentialsSM
- Blue Advantage HMOSM
- Medicaid
- Blue Cross Medicare Advantage (PPO)SM
- Blue Cross Medicare Advantage (HMO)SM
SWHR doctors and hospitals will remain in the MyBlue HealthSM network.

- Register for or log in to BAM. If you don’t have access to BAM, go to the website on the back of your member ID card.
- Call the number on your member ID card
In the case of a life-threatening illness or injury, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency facility right away. Emergency services for commercial networks are covered at the in-network benefit level.
