What is New?
This is a notification to our Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Texas (BCBSTX) Medicaid providers that our Medicaid plans will cover the member’s FDA-authorized over-the-counter COVID-19 tests purchased, beginning January 4, 2022. There is no cost to our members for up to 4 tests a month per person.
If our member is unsure if a test kit is FDA-authorized, they may ask the pharmacist for help.
Members may also request free over-the-counter COVID-19 tests through the federal government’s site. These tests do not count toward the four tests per covered member every 30 days under your Texas Medicaid coverage.
