Reminder
On September 1, 2023, Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) advised the STAR Kids program to increase personal attendant base wages from $8.11 to $10.60 per hour for the Consumer Directed Services (CDS) option. HHSC received full funding to support this increase for 2024-2025 from the General Appropriations Act. This increase covers programs from community care and intellectual and developmental disability providers.
Reprocessing
Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Texas will reprocess claims for service date on or after September 1, 2023, with the correct wages. Providers are not required to appeal the claims unless they are denied for additional reasons after the claims reprocessing is complete.
