Provider Action Requested: Increase number of members receiving all recommended pre-adolescent vaccines including HPV.
Immunizations for Adolescents (IMA-2) rates of preteens receiving all meningococcal, Tdap, and HPV vaccines are lower for any single vaccine given to preteens. BCBSTX goals for 2022 are to increase the rate of preteens (ages 9 through 12) receiving all three recommended vaccine series to prevent infections, illnesses, and cancers.
Best practices for completing immunizations for pre-adolescents:
- Make strong recommendations – vaccines prevent illness, infections, and cancers
- Bundle vaccines
- Remind members that vaccines are due
- Use ImmTrac2 to record complete vaccine history and identify members needing outreach
