The BlueCare Dental Traditional plan is available to insured employers with more than two eligible employees and self-insured employers with more than 150 eligible employees, as part of a benefits package.

BlueCare Dental Traditional offers employees the option to choose any dentist and receive benefits. However, when members choose a DentaBlue dentist they will experience lower out-of-pocket costs as they won’t be responsible for the cost of any covered dental services above the allowable amount and they can enjoy these value-added advantages:

• Lower out-of-pocket costs
• No balance billing for covered dental services above allowable amounts
• Less paperwork since most dentists file the claims
• Access to more than 7,000 contracting dentists statewide.

Members will be responsible for any coinsurance or deductibles as well as limited a non-covered services.

When using a DentaBlue dentist, members will experience lower out-of-pocket costs and usually will not have to file claims. Benefits are also available when using a non-DentaBlue dentist, but members will be responsible for the cost of any covered services over the allowable amount and may have to file claims.

Allowable Amount
Participating DentaBlue providers have agreed to accept the Allowable Amount as payment in full for covered dental services. Non-participating providers do not accept the Allowable Amount as payment in full. For services received from a non-participating provider, you will be responsible for any difference between the dentist’s charge and the Allowable Amount for the covered dental service.
