When you choose a dental plan from Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Texas, you’re in good company. That’s because Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Texas has been offering dental coverage since 1973, and currently serves more than 500,000 members. And, we’ve been providing health benefits longer than most companies have been around.
Standard plans are available for both small and large groups. Groups with more than 150 eligible employees can also tailor a plan to meet their specific needs. Whichever plan you choose, we provide helpful support through all phases of the dental program with comprehensive services and employee materials, such as ID cards, benefit booklets and easy-to-use claim forms.

Members receive their highest level of benefits when using network dentists. Members may also visit providers who do not contract with Blue Cross and Blue Shield, however they will be responsible for paying any charges over the allowable amount.

Dental PPO plan have access to more than 6,000 BlueCare Dental PPO network providers in Texas and about 58,500 network providers nationwide.
Members can choose a dentist from one of dentists, however they may receive a lower level of benefits. When choosing care from a nonnetwork dentist, benefits will be available at the out-of network level and members will be responsible for covered dental services over the BCBSTX allowable amount.

Members with the BlueCare Dental Traditional Plan will have lower out-of-pocket costs when they receive care from one of more than 7,000 DentaBlue dentists.
When using a non-DentaBlue provider, members will still receive benefits, based on the BCBSTX allowable amount but they will be responsible for covered dental services over the allowable amount.
