Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Texas Receives Honorable Mention For Workplace Flexibility
Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Texas (BCBSTX) received Honorable Mention for the 2010 Alfred P. Sloan Award for Business Excellence in Workplace Flexibility from the Dallas Regional Chamber of Commerce. The Alfred P. Sloan Award is a prestigious, national awards program recognizing exemplary employers that are using flexibility as a talent management tool to enhance workplace effectiveness and contribute to employee success.
Award winners are evaluated in a two-step process that measures an employer's workplace flexibility programs, policies and culture against national data from Families and Work Institute's National Study of Employers. Results are then validated with employee input. Employers that rank in the top 20 percent when compared to national norms are selected as finalists. The selection of winners is based on a score that combines employer and employee responses.
